Installation of Math-Net Page

Standardized Paths for the Math-Net Page(s)

Standardized paths for the Math-Net Pages support the gathering of the Math-Net Pages. All Math-Net Pages should be installed in a subdirectory Math-Net of the server root.

We recommend to use the following notation for the standard page

<URL of the server of the department>/Math-Net/index.en.html,
 (e.g. http://www.mi.uni-koeln.de/Math-Net/index.en.html)

For Math-Net Pages with alternative labels you should use an
language-specific additional suffix:
<URL of the server of the department>/Math-Net/index.<language>.html,
 (e.g. http://www.mi.uni-koeln.de/Math-Net/page.de.html)

Important Remark
Please insert a link to the Math-Net Page in a prominent place of your homepage.

Language Versioning

Objects on the Web are often provided in several languages, formats or encoding schemes in the Web. The http protocol allows to select an object depending on its language (format, encoding scheme). Modern http-servers like apache support this selection via multiple file extensions. For example the file welcome.fr.html maps onto content type text/html and language French. The technique of so-called language-specific shortcuts (for more detail see here) should be used for the Math-Net Page.

The shortcut en should be reserved for the Math-Net Page with standard labels. Math-Net Pages with alternative labels in English should be stored as index.<en-country code>.html, e.g. index.en-us.html for the US.
